The great acceleration

Crisis is a driver for acceleration – and the COVID-19 pandemic has been a clear driver of unprecedented change, smashing through traditional organizational inertia.

In response to the pandemic, over nine in 10 organizations report they have seen a great acceleration in the following areas:

One of the biggest shifts has been to digital transformation and flexible working practices, which has helped organizations deliver a high quality of service while keeping their people safe.

This accelerated change has led to benefits that span the whole business – from improved financial performance and better resilience, through to enhanced customer experience and talent strategies. Those organizations which have not seen growth in areas like digital transformation and productivity tool adoption are far less likely to have outperformed against 2021 targets (28%), compared to the global average (51%).
