Talent management focuses on the people, the processes, and systems required to recruit, hire, ramp, retain and motivate a high-quality workforce. It looks at onboarding, continuous training and development, compensation, goal setting, performance management, and succession planning.

Talent requires more attention than ever thanks to changing workforce dynamics. The war for talent has never been as fierce as it was in 2022, with high levels of attrition, record numbers of vacancies in tough to fill roles, and huge consulting demand even as labor costs rise.

The survey showed that voluntary attrition dropped from 9.8% in 2021 to 9.3% in 2022. We can be cautiously optimistic about this drop, as higher voluntary attrition is closely associated with a drop in performance.
